The brief

F51 is not just a skatepark—it’s a statement. Set in Folkestone, the world’s first multi-storey skatepark needed a brand identity that could match its architectural boldness and cultural ambition. The brief was to create a visual system that captured F51’s unique blend of urban sport, community, and brutalist design—and that could flex confidently across signage, merchandise, web, and social.

The brand needed to speak to three distinct audiences—skaters, boxers, and climbers—without losing coherence or edge.

What did I do?

I led the brand identity development from the ground up, designing a visual language that pulled directly from the building’s structure and purpose. The core logo was crafted to mirror the vertical geometry of the skate bowl itself, creating a mark that feels architectural and active .

I built out a full identity system, including color-coded sub-brands for each sport, modular signage, social media templates, and typographic rulesets. I worked across digital and physical touchpoints—from wayfinding to social avatars—ensuring the brand felt bold and consistent everywhere it showed up.

What was the outcome

The brand launched ahead of the park’s opening and helped position F51 as a global icon in the world of urban sport. It generated strong anticipation online, with high engagement on pre-launch social, and has since become a distinctive presence in skate and climbing culture.

The visual system has proven highly adaptable—used across merchandise, social media, digital platforms, and in-building signage—creating a unified experience for athletes, visitors, and the wider community.
