The brief

In 2019, Wimbledon was entering a new chapter in its history. With a new Head of Ticketing focused on digitizing a 150-year-old paper ballot system, the All England Club needed a clear, engaging way to introduce their members to a fully online process for The Championships.

The task: create a motion graphics explainer video that could guide myWimbledon members through the new digital ballot system—clearly, calmly, and in under two minutes.

What did I do?

I led the concept, scripting, and animation for the video—from wireframe to final frame. The goal was to translate a complex, multi-step digital process into a smooth, user-friendly walkthrough. I worked closely with the internal ticketing and membership teams to ensure every interaction was accurate and aligned with the new system logic.

Visually, the motion design referenced Wimbledon’s heritage branding—pairing modern UX cues with traditional type and color. Every transition was crafted to reduce cognitive load and reinforce confidence in the digital shift. I also provided alternate format versions for social and email embeds.

What was the outcome

The video became the central instructional asset for the new ticketing system, shared across Wimbledon’s digital platforms and embedded in all myWimbledon member communications.

It helped streamline support queries during rollout, reduced confusion around the new process, and contributed to strong early adoption of the digital ballot—marking a successful step forward in modernizing one of the sport’s most traditional institutions.
